An artist with such diversity enjoys frequent bookings just as diverse; as a soloist at an international convention of 4,000 delegates to headlining high-profile fundraisers to acting on film and television. Yes, in addition to singing in various languages she has acted on-screen as a mom, business executive and even a medical doctor citing page upon page of dialogue describing "cyclosporine ophthalmic emulsion .05% for the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca"…it's no wonder she was able to learn Vietnamese for a global conference!
Lini has performed an all-French cabaret show in Whistler and enjoys doing voiceover work in both English and French for commercials and corporations such as Bell Canada. She is delighted to receive radio airplay and royalties for her own recording, a timeless waltz, and also continues to front a popular 16-piece band, the Champagne Orchestra. Their repertoire includes much-loved melodies such as "La Vie En Rose" and "Route 66", and like many woman, Lini loves to get dressed up for any occassion.
When Canada's Fairchild and China's Shanghai Media Groups joined forces for their first-ever joint TV production in early 2008 (新時代電視-上海电视台 2008 新春綜藝晚會) Lini was the local talent they chose. Singing stars from Asia included Tsai Chin 蔡 琴, Wei Wei 韦 唯, and Fei Yu-Ching 費 玉 清. This was broadcast across China and North America as part of the lunar New Year celebrations.
So successful was her "surprising" act for this live-to-tape concert, she was invited to return for the 2009 joint-celebration Countdown to Shanghai Expo. This exclusive invite-only show featured special guests including Canada's own Avril Lavigne and Taiwanese superstar Qí Qín 齐秦 (Lini has been singing his hit "大約在冬季"for years). Not only was Lini asked to sing an English song of her choice, but also a Cantonese/Mandarin duet medley with renowned Kunqu Opera star Zhang Jun 張軍. Once again this TV show was broadcast to well over 200 million viewers. This took place shortly after Lini opened for a Chinese popstar's concert, Hins Cheung 張敬軒, a young and talented songwriter and performer.
Finally, Lini is also a professional host and M.C., known for "connecting" with audiences by using engaging and humorous rapport tailored for each specific audience and language. She loves to interact with the audience, as recent guests at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre will attest to after seeing her onstage with a certain federal government party leader, who shall remain nameless but is most certainly good-natured and a good sport.
Not just a talented vocalist or musical "bridge" between East and West,
Lini Evans is a one-of-a-kind dynamic ENTERTAINER!
